3-4 July 2010 Cosfest IX - Let's Make Friends! (Day1+2)

YEAH! Its Cosfest again! How many cosfest had I went through after all these years i wonder... hmmm...I think I have infact went through all the 9 cosfest, but in the middle skipping a few of them during my schooling days as I'm too busy.. Cosfest had infact gotten better and better, inviting more international cosplayers in for the competitions.
This year's Cosfest Day 1 event was not very packed as like the usual, maybe because of the rain? We are all expecting more crowds on Day 2!

And here, I will be posting all the pictures which I took for both Day 1 & Day 2! =D
Enjoy!

Another pic to show how low the front V cut was for Rykiel's costume....... OMG (Touches Chest) ♡♡♡ >_< ♡♡♡

After all the walking around, photo taking, shrieking, hugging, jumping... etc etc.. Wendi and me went to Xrys belated birthday gathering at the nearby Acia restaurant (a korean-japanese-chinese fusion food). We were very disappointed with their service and their booking system. Xrys called to book 30 seaters but when we went there, the waitress said, we need to wait, its first come first served. Say WAT?!!!! Is it because they didn't charge any booking fee so we were treated just like the customers who queued outside?
Then what is this BOOKING system for then? Luckily, their restaurant (it does not look like a restaurant, more like fast food res) manager came to salvage the situation. Or otherwise we would have complaint to their higher authority or whoever it is. =_=
However food wise, its still OK, not really great but satisfying enough for so many hungry souls out there after all the tiring cosplaying.

Lastly, a picture of the members (doing the 3 fingers sign) in our upcoming (big?) cosplay project. We were all so excited!!!
Someone added on, "We looked like some Opera singer who just changed out of our costumes"
I had a good laugh at that statement. Cos you can see our makeup are so thick and wearing plain clothes.. Its like when passer-by sees you, they go "⊙⌂⊙ HUH..URGH!!!"

Top: Sakana, Noshuu, Wendi, mi
Bottom: Yuanie, Xrys, Hoshi, Ringo
2 disappearing from this pic: Nessa & Selphie

Shot 22 & 25 May 2010, Fashion Hauls, Vivi Summer Dresses

I always think that if you want to make your dressup complete, never forget to wear your Nerdy Glasses!
Hence my...
First Fashion Haul: Nerdy Glasses! $50 for 2, sold at Wisma Atria Basement 1 Pushcart.
Good quality, nice frame (unlike those sold at $10). The black one is so nice, it makes your face look smaller than usual with it. ^_^

22 May Dressup Shot:
Specs - Wisma Atria Basement 1 Pushcart
Yellow spag (inner) - Chinatown Market
Starry big tee - Bugis Market
Hotpink belt - Overseas
Tie dye hot pants - CottonOn
Dirty yellow stockings - Japan
Gold heels - Overseas
Pearls and Bracelets - Ruby
Yellow Ribbon Hair tie - AMK HUB ARTBOX

Simple coral-brownish eye look, rather heavy peach-pink blush with nude lips to go with.
Yellow ribbon hair to match the dirty yellow stockings~ Infact, I don't wish to tie my hair but it was too hot! So I just tie it up simply like that...

25 May Dressup Shot: Majolica Majorca Workshop Day
Somehow a LITTLE bit inspired by one of Vivi's summer wear look worn by Lena) I know I lack that summery feel in there. =_="
I the floral chiffon blouses featured in Vivi!
Flowery Racer back (inner) - Bugis Market
White Lace Bolero - Overseas (RSeries)
Light Denim Jumper Skirt - Overseas
Maroon stockings - Overseas
White Heels - Mitju (Ion)

Spring, Summer are all about flowers, bright, vibrant, light, bronze, pastels, straws etc.. Here, Vivi Mag features all kinds of Summer long dresses in different prints and colours and teaches you the way to match them with sleeveless boleros, belts, open toe heels, wide collar short tees.

And Sooo...
Happened to spot a long dress from Hula & Co. at Wisma, and I got this light blue at $49~
Its length is just nice, at my ankle. I guess I would have to go for US brands inorder to buy one that is longer than this. =\
Last fashion haul: 2 Hair clip buys from Far East Plaza, Level 1.
A trial of the Leopard print Rose hairclip on my messy bun~ ^_^" I'll do a better job than this the next time I wear it.

And then, something which na gave to me~ =)

Lastly, I came across this portion from Vivi Mag and saw this mini flat head brush. Its not an e/s brush! It is for cleansing your pores! I find Tsururi very familar, now I remembered where I had seen it: JPMON. I supposed this is already selling in John Little/ Watsons? Anyone seen this before in stores?
Interesting ne!

miwitch's method of DIY Hair dyeing - Step by Step

As stated in the heading, here is MY method of DIY Hair dyeing.
I am just a novice in hair dyeing. As mentioned before, I always have a friend (who is both very good and gentle in hair dyeing my hair) to dye my hair for me but she is rather not free for this month, hence I must take this challenge to dye my long hair MYSELF!! *SHOWS FIST* ≫∧≪ ("")
This is infact a hair bleach, not hair dye! After bleaching, I can dye my hair but miwitch is lazy............... OK! Let's get on with it!

Some previews of my hair before the dyeing process.... And the tools to begin with:
1. Toilet paper : what for?! For cleaning the dye off your face, hands, etc...
2. Hair Clips : those that salons often use
3. Newspaper : To cover up my table and the floor around me incase the dye splat onto them
4. Hair Dye Ingredients : Usually consist of only 1 & 2, but this brand (Somang Hair Bleach) includes a 3, which is the nutrition oil. See more pics here
5. Hair Shampoo, Pack (Treatment) samples & tube : Usually included in the pack, but Somang gives additional tube of Hair Pack that can last for 1 week.
5. A plastic bowl : To contain the hair dye mix
6. Hair dye comb/brush : To mix the ingredients in the bowl, and to transfer the mix to your hair using the brush side
7. (forgotten to take pic) Plastic/ Rubber Gloves : You do not want to stain your hands with the dye!~
8. Plastic covering for your shoulders & body : Usually includes in some hair dye packs, if don't, you can purchase it at Daiso

Step by Step in DIY Hair Dyeing:
1. Split your hair into Front (your bangs area) and Back (back of head) sections, hairclip the Front Portions together so it wont move to the back while you dye the back part.
2. Then split your Back portion into Up and Down sections, clip the Upper portion to top of your head
3. Further split the Down sections into Left and Right sections, clip either left/right parts and leave the other side ready for hair dyeing process.
▶▶▶ Refer to below 1st pic: Roughly, you can see the Up Down sections. Don't complain about messy as I can't SEE what I'm doing! >_<" As the back has too much hair, I had further split the Down sections to smaller sections
4. Starts hair dyeing by using the brush to transfer the dye mix to near your roots and brush towards your hair ends (Here, I only brush down to half of my hair, because my hair ends are already bleached)
5. With your fingers, rub the dye into your hair roots, roots are harder to capture dyes because they are very well moisturised by your scalp, are oily, hence dye cannot 'eat' in easily.
*Note: Do not rub the dye into your scalp! If your dye touches your scalp, let it be. Don't need to clean it off or rub it in otherwise your hair don't get dyed or your scalp gets burnt
6. After rubbing, use the comb side of your brush to comb from roots towards hair ends, so the dye is evenly distributed to every hair strands.
5. Once finished with the lower section, slowly moves one level up by letting go the Upper section bit by bit.
7. Repeat Step 4. until you finished all the back portion.
8. Do the same to your Front portion, starting from the hairs growing nearest to your face (ie, sideburns and above forehead)
9. Move upwards bit by bit till you finished all the front portion.
10. Lightly comb your hair upwards & towards hair ends to further distribute the dye evenly
11. If you have some remainings of the dye, you can use it all up by putting them all around the outer circumference of your hair
12. Bring all your hair up and rest it at the top of your head.
13. Wrap your hair up with the plastic covering
14. Wait for about an hour (Sometimes I waited for almost 2 hours! Because I am kiasu. Neh~ Its just that my black hair is very hard to capture the dye)

Step by Step in Washing & Blow Drying:
1. Use room temp (not warm or hot!) water to rinse off all hair dye, don't get any dye run through your face & into your eyes (Usually I tilt my head downwards to rinse)
2. Shampoo your hair and then rinse off
3. Take alot of hair treatment and spread all over your hair, including scalp (Some parts of my scalps get irritated and turned red, hair treatments are good for relieving the scalding sensations.)
*Note: Some might use scalp treatments and hair treatments seperately. For me, hair treatments are almost as good as scalp treatments.
4. Massage the treatment gently into your hair.
5. (Skip this method if you have no scalp irritations) Lightly rub on the areas of the scalp where irritation occurs, then place your palm against it for few seconds. It will calm and soothe the scalp.
6. Wait for 10-15 mintues to allow the hair be moisturised by hair treatment
7. Rinse your hair
▶▶▶ Refer to below 1st pic: My hair when still damp. Don't get deceived by this hair colour!
8. Use towel to lightly pat dry (Don't rub it against your scalp), use 2 hands wrap with towel and let your hair fall between 2 hands, pat your hair by doing a clapping method with your hands. Pat from your roots down to hair ends.
9. Blow dry your hair, using cool wind. (High temperature will damage your newly dyed hair, making it even drier)
*Note: Your hair now is quite fragile, dry, and your scalp feels tingling, so don't tug your hair hard when you run your fingers through them. The hair ends might appear to be all tied up, so seperate them gently.
▶▶▶ And TADA! Let's see how my hair turns out...

Well, I think I can do better than this in future.. Although I am using Hair Bleach, it should have been lighter than this colour. Nonetheless, my hair is not black anymore! (Considering that I done it myself and my arms went numb from doing all the work at the back of my head...=_=")

The pros of DIY Dyeing my hair:
1. Increase my hair volume in some ways
2. Increase fluffiness (make sense?)
3. Makes my hair look & feel less oilier (because dry hair absorb my natural sebum from scalp)
4. Easier to style
5. Stays in shape for longer hours after curling it
6. Lastly, makes me look japan-ish! ≥▽≤

The cons of DIY Dyeing: (most people will know)
1. Frequent bleaching/dyeing spoils your hair (eg, split ends, frizzy hair etc)
2. Harms your scalp (Some people might think after frequent dyeing for many years, you might get cancer/disease, hair starts to fall... EEeek! Now, I'm just escaping from the truth...sigh~)
3. Scalp's deadskin sometimes will break into flakes after few days of dyeing (usually it happens to me for a week, after which it'll returned to normal)
4. Uneven hair colour (if done DIY, like mine. ~_~)
5. Usually 1 bottle of dye is not enough for shoulder length hair, you need to buy 2 or more! $$$flys~

If you can think of any other pros & cons, that will further add into my lists...

For all ladies who wish to DIY your own hair, do post an entry about it and share with me! ^_^ I've still got many to learn about hair dyeing!

Lastly, while I was bleaching my hair, I saw GATSBY commercial on TV, its so funny!! XD EVEN if its not REAL...

13 April: A mixture of spring with winter style..... Uh hum, who am I joking? I just ran out of ideas of matching up my clothings!
My top was purchase at Bugis, match with black cotton leggings from Dorothy Perkins (bought at special offer and glad that it was long enough for me!), and no brand furry ankle boots from overseas. And surprisely, this top makes my bust look fuller.. ^_^"""
Wore this outfit and went out with Selphie to Chinatown, I HAD to go get my stuffs after not being able to go out for 1 whole month cos of work! (Most of the time end up buying stuffs online.. -_-")

Shot 20 Mar 2010 , Jap Obsession @ Cathay - Sasa - John Little Hauls - Goodies (Long Post )

Back to my GOLD Nails Obsession!! (This ain't nothing to do with Jap Obsession ok...) Because my pink nails are fading off after few weeks.. so its time to change!
I put on Jordana Coat -> Skin Food -> NFU -> Jordana coat. TADA! Sorry my cam can never capture the colour correctly in such a dim room..

My FOTD, OOTD, and HOTD (hair of the day?)

When it comes to my OFF Day, I'm very excited! Dressing up is one of my favourite thing to do...Lalalala~

Oooooook. My forehead is never smooth, spots and blemishes here and there..

Recently just bought a translucent chifon blouse from -http://www.fairebelle.com
The blouse name is: ALEXANDER WANG INSPIRED BATWING SHEER TOP
I'd always wanted to buy chifon blouse/tops.. at least for current season, I want to wear clothings made of lighter and thinner fabric, so my sweat is easily evaporated~
So loving my cute pink shorts, first time wearing it too after putting into wardrobe like...3 months?! And yeah, you can see my HIGH heels that is so high that I kinda made all my other friends look so short... ^_^"" Ops, my bad...

Jap Obession @ Cathay
Organised by the group of people who organised Street Festival.
On 20th Mar, there were Jrock band performance and a cosplay competition. One of the organiser requested me to find them 5 cosplayers to 'park' them there, like mascots, they need to take pictures with the public. So here goes my 5 friends whom I troubled.. (Because I was too busy and tired so I had to skipped this offer! :( )

Thanks you guys for helping out for the event!! *Muacks!* (Kie's drawings on costume is absolutely stunning.. Just like the originals OMG... Kie: Have u actually finished the drawings? I can't even realise it from this pic...)
Cosplayed Characters From left to right: Hizaki from Versailles . Kyo from Dir en grey . Chii pair from Chobits

Taken with my cell phone... And what the F*** is going on with my last picture.. Some 'six sense' going on?!
Cosplayed Character by Selphie: Yuuki Cross from Vampire Knights

There's this booth which take pictures for FREE! They print the photos out from a Selphy. I tease Selphie about her name being same with the printing gadget.. XD
Selphy was not bad! The photos actually are not THAT orange in the originals,it's because I took these pics with my cam under orange lights..
All our faces are so FLAWLESS in the pics! Me like!
Note: I'm not pointing middle finger in the last pic yah.. Its my index finger hidden among my hair!

Shopping @ Cathay

After all the talking and watching of performances, I moved on to shop around Cathay. And see what I found! $5 for a piece of bracelet, great buy!

At first I dare not ask for price seeing that this thingy is so interesting, I was thinking 1 might be for $20?
A necklace I bought was $15. Big chunky and in fashion (at least for now) necklace but at a price rather reasonable!

Rightttt.. my fingers are too slim for this thing to be worn as a ring!

Shopping @ Plaza Sing

I've gotten:
Suisse Oxy Water Spray - for just $19.90 @ Sasa! At least I find that this is a bigger bottle than Evian, and its famous for its skincare product so its worth to buy!
(I asked Sasa BA for Beauty Formula's Cooling Spray but she say it's no longer available! OTL||| My heart sunk...)
Bourjois Healthy Mix Concealer (No. 52) - $19.90 less 20% @ John Little.  But afraid now that the colour doesn't suit me because I realised it actually has shade 53, but John Little wasn't selling that shade! Should have restricted myself from buying somethings that I didn't intend to buy! *slaps own hands*
EP e/s Quad - Na helped to buy for me, haven't swatch yet as the e/s are so pretty to look at..
LA Colors e/s palette - Goody from Na

On 21st, I was at an event.. I stood under darn hot sunlight from 8am - 12pm and see what happened!?!?! (Refer to arrows)
I nearly faint because it was soooo hot and I'm working too hard as well. I used Suisse Spray to try to moisturise my face, it did moisturise but it didn't help to cool my temperate as like the Cooling Water(by Beauty Formula) I often used.
So now my face (although put on sunblock) has darken by 1 tone, but my body has darkened by 2-3 tones! Stupid sun. stupid event.
I just hope I wont get more pigmentations on my body and face... and LUCKY i didn't faint... Otherwise it sured to be aired in the news on the next day with Prime Minister carrying me to the ambulance van. XD~

Shot 28 Feb, Natas Fair 2010, Watsons Fair

Meeting few friends to Expo Natas Fair to take a look at the Japan trip packages/tickets/accomodations for next year... (We planned so darn early! Not a single travel agent company can quote us the price!)

Wearing all black~ Yesyes, very skinny already still wear black i know... ~_~ Its been quite sometime I start collecting black outfits again.. was previously into gothic, punk, visual kei.. and then suddenly flora, antique, hime styles, influenced heavily by Jap sub-culture. And now? Korean wave... heh heh..
I found that the $7 necklace i bought is kind of out of place.. Ah.. wat the heck.

Was paying the ticket to enter NATAS Fair when my hp message rang. The girl at counter swipped my mastercard halfway, looked up and say "Ah~ah~! Ring Ding Dong!!"
I looked up at her, she looked at me, and we both smiled ^______^ hehehex.. Kpop fan there at the counter!

Walking around and I saw this BIGGGGG AD!!! *Dedicate to Ariya!* I prefered if they are Shinee and 2PM. XD~

Next, the WATSONS FAIR. Was so excited in beginning but when I enter, I got so disappointed. X...(
So much things I want to buy but they don't have.. They only have like Vichy, DHC, MMajorca (limited stuffs!), ZEA...
Here are the stuffs I bought by running thru Watsons Fair and Watsons outlet in Compass Point. Had been aiming to get Neutrogena Hydro Boost range for sometime but sadded that they didn't appear in Watsons Fair..
I was introed by a sales lady to Bio-essence, thinking maybe I should give it a try again since the last time I used was (some serum?) few years back.
Bought the Deep Exfoliating Gel and Hydra spa energy-lotion. She made me try their Bio Multi-Effect BB Cream (8 in 1), feels good on my hand not oily but I didn't want to buy so she gave me a sample. She's so friendly~ ^_^
By just spending at Watsons, 170 monies flew off from my pocket.

+ misc, etc, food, travel... Spent ~250 monies for just a day.. Phew!

Here shows a rather new cutie cake shop in Compass Point call The Icing room. So cute that I had to bought their muffins to try out! =P~
